U12 Program

Nordic 2006 (U12) Program – What to Expect.

Tryouts – We hold out try-outs for this age group in mid July. Players will be introduced to the Nordic coaching staff and will experience a typical Nordic practice. This will also give our coach’s a chance to meet the players and get to know them on a more personal basis. After try-outs players will be sent appropriate paperwork to register for Nordic and initial payment is expected to accept your spot in our program within 2 weeks of try-outs.

Fall Program - Practices and games will start in late August/early September with 2 team/age group practices per week (days/times TBA) at the Tree Farm soccer complex in Essex Jct and VSA Fall league games on Sundays. Players will also be given a third practise opportunity per week with our Technical Training sessions. This will be a 7 week season through mid to late October. We will begin tiering teams after Fall league play and will continue through-out the winter. Rosters will be finalized in late April/early May.

Winter season –Players will kick off their season at the Nordic Indoor Soccer Center (NISC) at the CVE Expo in Essex Jct in early November. Players practice and/or play two times per week through-out the winter months. Our teams will compete in the U12 league or our U14 league. Players will practice twice per week with their team/age group and also have an additional technical training opportunity during the winter. NISC runs 3 indoor sessions through-out the winter: Session 1 is typically during November and December: Session 2 during January and February with session 3 during March and April. There will be breaks through-out the winter for school holidays and certain CVE Expo shows.

Spring season – Teams will start outdoor practices at the Tree Farm Soccer Complex in Essex Jct after the April school break. Teams will practice twice per week (Mon/Weds or Tues/Thurs) for 90 mins. 5pm to 6.30pm or 6.30pm to 8pm. Teams will compete in the Vermont Soccer League (VSL) in their U12 division. This league includes U11 and U12 teams from other local clubs and town teams. Games are typically on Saturday’s through-out the state of Vermont and Plattsburgh, NY. Teams will play in 2 tournaments through-out the spring season. Memorial Day week-end, we will travel to Needham, MA and then the third week-end of June is Nordic Cup. We will enter our Premier team into the Vermont State Cup where teams have the opportunity to advance to the Region 1 Championships in late June/early July.

Please plan to be available for Nordic events through Regionals in early July!

Cost: $1625…this includes all costs except uniforms.

What this fee includes:

Fall – 2 practises per week, technical training, VSL games and Stowe tournament. Goal-keeper practises.

Winter - 2 practises per week, technical training and NISC league games (2 teams per session where numbers allow). Goal-keeper practises.

Spring - 2 practises per week, technical training, VSL games, Memorial Day week-end and Nordic Cup tournaments, State Cup and Regionals entry fee, coaches’ tournament travel expenses upto $700 and $1100 for Regionals. Goal-keeper practises.

Tournaments - $800 towards tournament entry fees as well as Stowe and Nordic Cup. Coach will attend 2 tournaments through-out the year in addition to Nordic Cup, State Cup and Regionals.

Anything in addition to the above is NOT covered by your player fees and addition costs will be at the team’s expense! Additional expenses may include but are not limited to: additional tournament entry fees (other than those noted above), coaches expenses for these additional tournaments/games and a coaches per diem of $75 per day.
