Welcome to the Summer 2024 edition of Nordic News! Nordic’s quarterly newsletter keeps all of our families informed as to what’s going on in the world of Nordic Soccer.

New Turf for NISC!

Nordic Soccer Club is fundraising for a new turf field for our indoor facility. After ten long years using the same carpet, it is definitely time for an upgrade that all players, coaches, referees and parents will love. Help us reach our goal, and enhance your experience at the Nordic Indoor Soccer Center!

We've chosen the Nexxfield Pro E.2 Turf, rather than a carpet layout - the new turf will come in 992 squares. While any amount is welcome, donations over $50 will "sponsor a square" and your name will appear on a banner at the indoor center for the 2024-25 season.

Click Here to Donate! All donations will be connected to a player/team , please email Sara Hughes (sara.hughes17@gmail.com) with which player AND team you are donating for. The top three teams within the club will receive a prize.

We are appreciative of any and all donations, however we have a tiered donor system described below:

- $50 - National League Sponsor

- $150 - Premier League Sponsor

- $250 - Champions League Sponsor

- $500 - World Cup Sponsor

Each donation will be recognized on the banner with the donor name and sponsor level. 

We are a 501c3 organization, your donations may qualify as tax deductible and many companies will do an employer match of your gift! (send your matching gift email to sara.hughes17@gmail.com). 

 

Nordic Goes Abroad!

Our 2009G/2010G headed over to Italy this past April break, while our 2010BP traveled to England. Thank you to World Strides for offering such amazing opportunities to these players! The teams played and trained internationally, while also being able to explore the local culture. Memories for a lifetime!

Memorial Day Weekend

Our club had almost every single team competing in the Needham Memorial Day Tournament, the Wellesley Memorial Day Tournament, or the Nate Hardy Memorial Day Tournament hosted by Seacoast. All teams had great weekends, competing against strong teams. Huge shoutout to our 2014B, 2008G and 2005-06G on bringing home a trophy, as well as our 2014B, 2011BP and 2013B for advancing into the finals. 

Nordic AGM

In March, we hosted our club’s Annual General Meeting, where we went over the club operations, revealed our new uniforms for next year, as well as our 26th Nordic Cup Logo, and so much more! This year, we were happy to bring back our club awards, including Boy’s and Girl’s Coaches of the Year, Outstanding Citizen Award, and the Outstanding Service Award. Congrats to Don Haddox, Jefferson Hales, Charli Kellaway (2005G), and Caisil Weldon for winning those awards, respectively.

The NECSL

Our 2014B finished their inaugural NECSL season a couple weeks ago. The New England Club Soccer League (NECSL) is a regional league, where teams from New England can compete in performance-driven games each weekend. They finished in the top 4 in Flight 1 out of 19. Congrats!

Golf Tournament

On Friday, May 17th, we hosted our Annual Nordic Soccer Club Golf Tournament at Cedar Knoll Country Club. Congrats to the winners - Designated Drivers!

Great weather and a great group of people got together for a fun day of golf, and all the proceeds went to the Nordic Scholarship Fund.

The Nordic Scholarship Fund allows for any/all players to be able to participate in our high level, premier soccer club that their family could not otherwise afford. Nordic Soccer Club wants to ensure that players have access to the game that they love, and our scholarship fund helps us do so!

College Commits!

Our 2005-06G have a total of eight college commitments going off to play collegiate soccer in the fall. Congrats to Brooks DeShaw (Middlebury College), Finley Barker (Endicott College), Mimi Dion (Smith College), Lorelei Right (Buffalo State University), Charli Kellaway (Smith College), Aurora Proulx (Colby Sawyer), Maddi Doyle (University of New England), and Emily Thompson (Sheffield-Hallam University).

State Cup Champions!

HUGE shoutout to our TWO 2024 Vermont State Cup Champions - Our 2010G and 2005-06G. The 2010G will be traveling down to West Virginia at the end of June to represent Vermont at the East Regional Championship.

 

 

Nordic Cup 2024

Thank you to ALL teams, players, coaches, managers, referees, volunteers and spectators who made it such a successful weekend. Great weather, great atmosphere, and great competition. We can’t wait to see you next year!

Big congrats to the 2014B, 2011BP, 2010BP, 2009BP, 2008B and 2005-07BD on their championships! Shoutout to the 2014-15G, 2010G, 2009G, 2008G, 2007G and 2005-06G on their advancement to the finals. 

Summer Camps and Programs

Registration is NOW OPEN for our 2024 Summer Camps and Programs! Check out the dates and get registered now!

We will be hosting two camps, and one summer-long program this summer season. Our first camp will be with the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy from July 16th-18th. Click here to get registered!

The second camp we are hosting is our Middle School Preseason Camp from August 19th-22nd. Finally, we are hosting our second year of the MS/HS/College Preseason Program this summer and are super excited. If you have a player that wants (and needs) to get ready for their upcoming preseason, this is the program for them! For this camp or program, click here to get registered!

2024-25 Season Tryouts

Register now for the 2024-25 season with Nordic! Click Here to Register! Tryouts begin next week, so make sure to save the dates and get registered. Girls will be on Monday, July 1st and Wednesday, July 10th, while the boys will be on Tuesday, July 2nd and Thursday, July 11th. If you are interested in playing, but unable to make tryouts - still get registered and shoot Jim and Craig an email!
