Nordic Fall Program U8's to U12's
**New for 2010**

Under the guidance of Nordic Youth Technical Director, Charley Amblo, Jess Valley, Sean McMannon, Dave Marlow, Jim Dillon, Tom Schaeffer and other Nordic staff, we have added our comprehensive fall program to our year round calendar. For players ages from 6 to 12, in addition to or instead of your regular fall soccer season, the primary goal of this programme is to foster a "Love" of the game whilst enhancing proper playing development through an interrelated series of educational progressions. Emphasis will be placed on individual ball skills and practical application in match situations. Players will play twice per week with 1 hour of instruction and 1 hour of small sided games.

Nordic Soccer Club
"Our Professionals"

Nordic Soccer Club is proud to announce that Wade Jean has accepted our invitation to assume the position of Director of Coaching for the Nordic Soccer Club. After much board discussion and interviews, we are excited to have Wade bring his unique and highly successful approach to the player development efforts of our club. Wade brings a robust resume of experiences as a coach with domestic and international youth programs and at various and far reaching collegiate levels. He has lead by example at each level and has fostered and achieved a culture of effort, commitment and success.

Joining Wade, we are very fortunate to have a broad and talented leadership team in place with our Technical Directors Marcel Choquette and Charley Amblo. Marcel looks forward to continuing to be a key player on this team working with coaches and players, much of which on the girls side. Additionally, Wade looks forward to continuing to work with and building on the stellar work of Charley Amblo to expand his well conceived player development process now used with the younger ages through older groups. Additionally, as Nordic Director of Operations, Jim Goudie will continue to be the glue that keeps the club together as he works to support these player development programs both on and off the pitch.

As Wade takes over we thank Jesse Cormier for his dedicated and inspired work as our Director of Coaching for the last 3 years. He brought his extraordinary talent and enthusiasm to this position and provides big boots to fill. Thankfully, as Jesse leaves to spend more time with his family (including Nordic U11 son Kai!) he has agreed to continue to be a Special Advisor to the club for those times when his input might be irreplaceable.

Much is being done, right away. We have our coaching staff in place for tryouts. The leadership team have put the final pieces in place with some exciting new talent along side some of our great veterans. We are totally convinced this is our best coaching staff ever.

Nordic teams claim 5 State Cup Championships
Congratulations to our 12 Premier Boys, 14 Premier Boys, 15 Premier Boys, 18 Premier Boys and 16 Premier Girls teams who claimed Vermont State Cup titles this week-end.

The 12 Premier Boys got the week-end off to a great start with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Capital. First half goals from Cole Venner, Cooper O'Connell and Tawn Tomasi gave Nordic a 3-0 half time lead and despite a Capital goal early in the 2nd half, Nordic closed out strong with further goals from Venner, Bobby Navarro and James Raymond.

Jesse Brady Searby's 14 Premier Boys fought out a close 1-0 victory over Far Post on a Joe Castano 1st half goal and a clean sheet from Brandon O'Connell whilst Wade Jean's 15 Premier Boys comfortably beat their Far Post counterparts 4-0 on goals from Shane Haley, Owen Fellows, Noah Lieberman and Danny Samardzic. Matt McBride in goal with the shut-out.

Todd Wenner's 16 Premier Girls got off to a strong start with 1st half goals from Lauren Benard (2) and Meredith Corley and then played tight defense for the remainder of the game as they won 3-0 vs Far Post. Lara Collins in goal, keeping the clean sheet.

Finally, Conor Tobin's 18 Premier Boys rounded off the week-end with a well earned 3-2 win over Capital. Noah Johnson and Erich Schwer got Nordic off to a great 2 goal lead, before Capital pulled it back with 2 goals mid-way through the game. Brock Fortin calmly tucked away the winning goal with 15 mins to go to send the 18 Boys through.

All of our teams will be playing at the Region 1 Championships in West Virginia, July 1st through 6th.

Nordic also had 4 teams that progressed to this week-ends finals. Our 13 Premier Boys lost a close 2-0 game to Far Post, Todd Wenner's 13 Premier Girls fell short in their final, whilst Marcel Choquette's 14 Premier Girls put up a valiant battle, losing 4-3 after being down 3-0 at half time! Our 15 Premier Girls lost a close 3-1 encounter in their final game with Capital, Kristy Benoit scoring the lone Nordic goal.

Congratulations to all Nordic teams on an exciting (and very wet) week-end of soccer.
